Frequently Asked Questions

How does in-home massage work?
Nick brings the massage table and supplies to you. You provide enough space for the table and a clean, private area for the session. When you request an appointment, you can share any helpful details about parking, stairs, pets, access needs, or the setup of your space.
How much space do I need?
A massage table needs enough room for Nick to move around it comfortably. A living room, bedroom, office, or other private area can usually work. If you are unsure whether your space is large enough, mention it when reaching out.
Do you offer in-office sessions?
Nick primarily offers in-home massage. In-office sessions may be available on a limited basis by request. If you prefer an office-based appointment, please mention that when you reach out.
What areas do you serve?
Nick serves Southern Oregon, including Ashland, Talent, Phoenix, and Medford.
For appointments outside Ashland or Talent, the minimum session cost is $100
What if I have pets?
Pets are welcome to be present if they are calm and not disruptive. If your pet may interfere with the session, please plan to keep them in another room.
Nick is used to excited dogs and is happy to follow your lead on whether to greet them or give them space.

What kind of massage do you offer?
Nick’s work blends deep tissue massage, Tui Na-inspired techniques, structural awareness, relaxation massage, and nervous-system-centered care. Sessions may be focused and specific, slow and settling, or a combination of both, depending on what your body needs that day.
Do you offer deep tissue?
Yes, but Nick's approach is integrative rather than purely forceful. Sessions may include sustained pressure and focused work on tight or restricted areas, but the depth is responsive to what your body needs and can receive.
Nick blends deep tissue techniques with nervous system awareness, structural bodywork, and Tui Na. The goal is not to "break apart" tension, but to work with your body in a way that supports lasting change and regulation.
If you are looking for focused deep work, Nick can provide that. If you need something slower or more settling, sessions can shift in that direction. The approach is shaped by your body, your comfort, and what feels useful that day. That said, if your priority is consistently maximal pressure throughout the entire session, Nick may not be the best fit.
What is Tui Na?
Tui Na is a form of Chinese therapeutic bodywork that may include pressing, kneading, rolling, stretching, and acupressure-style contact. Nick draws from Tui Na alongside deep tissue, relaxation massage, and anatomy-informed bodywork to create sessions that are focused, responsive, and grounding.
Do I need to know what kind of massage I want?
No. Each session begins with a brief check-in about what is present in your body, what kind of pressure feels useful, and whether you want focused work, full-body relaxation, or a combination of both
Can massage help with chronic pain or injury recovery?
Massage may support pain relief, mobility, relaxation, and a greater sense of ease in the body. Nick often works with people navigating chronic tension, repetitive strain, injury recovery, stress, and body fatigue from physically demanding work. Massage is not a substitute for medical care, and acute or worsening concerns should be evaluated by a healthcare provider.

What if I’m new to massage or feel nervous?
That is completely welcome! You do not need to know exactly what kind of massage you want or how the session “should” go. Each appointment begins with a brief check-in about what you are hoping for, what kind of pressure feels useful, and anything you want to focus on or avoid.
You are welcome to ask questions, request changes, stay partially or fully clothed, pause the session, or end the session at any time.
What if I feel self-conscious about my body?
Massage is for all kinds of bodies. Nick’s work is consent-based, respectful, and focused on supporting comfort, ease, and relief — not judging how your body looks, moves, or feels.
You are welcome to share anything that would help you feel more comfortable, including areas you do or do not want worked on, pressure preferences, positioning needs, or concerns about touch.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever feels comfortable! You may undress to your comfort level, stay partially clothed, or remain fully clothed if that feels better. Nick will work with your preferences and the goals of the session.
How do consent and draping work?
You remain in charge of your session. Nick will check in about pressure, focus areas, boundaries, and comfort throughout the appointment.
Massage is typically done with the client undressed to their comfort level and professionally draped with a sheet or blanket throughout the session. Only the area being worked on is uncovered. You may also remain partially or fully clothed if that feels better.

How do I request a session?
Fill out the request form with your contact information, general location, what you are hoping to receive support with, and any relevant access details. Nick will follow up with next steps.
How does the sliding scale work?
Nick’s rate is $80–$130 per hour. Please choose the rate that best reflects your current access to resources. Paying at the higher end helps sustain the practice and supports access for others. The rate you choose does not change the care you receive, and no income verification is required.
Do you take insurance?
No. Nick does not bill insurance at this time.
Is gratuity expected?
Gratuity is never expected but always appreciated. Please choose the sliding-scale rate that best reflects your current access to resources.
